Flyaround Romania
Adventure Seeker? We teach backcountry and sidecountry flying
Explore Romania's flying environment, from the mountains to the sea. The eastern Europe's last frontier

Welcome to Flyaround
Discover the thrill of backcountry flying with guided training and adventure flights across Romania. Whether you are new to off-airport landings or looking to refine your skills in high-altitude and rugged environments, we provide instruction tailored to your experience level.
While backcountry flying takes you deep into remote areas, sidecountry flying bridges the gap between established runways and the unknown environments. It's about accessing hidden alpine strips, rugged highland clearings, and challenging terrain just off the beaten path. This style of flying demands precision, adaptability, and a deep understanding of the natural environment.
Our Services

Taildragger Training
Tailwheel flying unlocks new adventures and sharpens your piloting skills. These planes boost confidence, expand landing options, and make every flight more exciting. Our courses teach the techniques you need—whether you're starting out or leveling up, you'll fly better and have more fun.

Mountain Flying
Fly with confidence in mountain terrain. This course is for all pilots, whether new or experienced, who want to improve their skills and flight safety. It's especially useful in a country with so many mountains. You'll learn about mountain weather, how altitude affects flying, and techniques for navigating ridges, valleys, and slopes. We'll also cover how to handle low-visibility situations, manage emergencies, and use tools to fly safely in tough conditions.

Bush Flying
This course comes in two versions: one for pilots with no tailwheel experience and another for experienced pilots. We'll adjust based on your progress and skills, but both cover key concepts of bush and sidecountry flying, plus emergency preparation.
You'll learn to recognize different surfaces and terrains, and how to take off and land in tight spaces—getting the best performance from your aircraft.

Guided Backcountry and Sidecountry Flights
Already own an aircraft? Come explore Romania's beautiful landscapes, from the Carpathian Mountains to the Black Sea, with our experienced pilots. We'll guide you through remote areas and help you improve your backcountry and sidecountry flying skills.
Fly in new places, sharpen your techniques, and gain confidence in flying at higher altitudes and landing off-airport, all while enjoying Romania's amazing scenery.
Our Approach
Backcountry flying is about more than just piloting skills—it's about understanding your aircraft's capabilities and how to adapt them for safe operations in remote environments. Our approach ensures that pilots gain both the technical proficiency and aircraft knowledge necessary for backcountry flying.
While many associate backcountry aviation with towering mountain peaks, it also includes remote valleys, riverbanks, and isolated coastal areas that require unique techniques and preparations.

The Aircraft
Our fleet consists of high-performance STOL aircraft, built for rugged terrain and hard environments. These bush wheel-equipped aircraft require specialized piloting skills and modifications for backcountry operations.

The Pilot
Backcountry flying requires specialized skills beyond standard piloting. Our training enhances your ability to handle short fields, confined spaces, and variable weather conditions.

The Environment
Romania's diverse landscape provides a one-of-a-kind training ground for adventure pilots. From the Carpathian Mountains to the Black Sea coastline, our courses prepare you for real-world backcountry flying.
Our Courses
At Flyaround, safety and customization are our top priorities. Our landings will always take place on already known and authorized landing sites, ensuring compliance with regulations and keeping safety first. For less experienced pilots, we will focus on operating near aerodromes where we have the necessary permissions to land, in line with current legislation. This guarantees that your training is conducted in safe, controlled environments.
Our courses are highly customizable and adaptable to the experience level of each pilot. The process for applying to a course is simple: you book a slot for a specific number of days, and once your application is received, we will validate your experience to ensure the course fits your needs. For advanced courses, a checkride might be required to assess your skills before proceeding. If a checkride is not necessary, we will provide you with detailed information about your course or tour after validation.
